Yup, it's called Intel Compute Stick. That machine is offering desktop performance in a compact size.
Intel have 2 version for this type of devices:

1. Windows version: with Windows pre-installed you will get full desktop taste with this devices. powered by Quad Core Intel Atom Proccessor, 2 GB RAM, 32GB Internal Memory, with Windows 8.1 installed.
2. Linux version: also called as lite or budget version, this type of devices was powered by Ubuntu OS, 1GB RAM, 8GB Internal Memory.

Those type of machine offers desktop computing experience. Just plug it to HDMI port on your Display Monitor or your Television.
